Houston punk outfit Lace has made it. Not only are they official on “Rate Your Music,” they have also done something even more accomplishing, that of course being the release of their debut record Human Condition. The group doesn’t necessarily go strictly by punk or hardcore either, or at least that’s what I imagine because I think it’s so much more than just that. This release also delves into aspects of psychedelia and post-rock while also throwing some noise in there. The opening riff in the track “Roman Candle” exemplifies the genre blending on this record. Another thing that I really admire is the — I’m assuming — artistic reference with the track “Mapplethorpe,” named after the famed (and controversial) photographer Robert Mapplethorpe.

As well as an upcoming nationwide tour, the band has also planned a special hometown record release show at Insomnia Gallery with support from Narcons and Narrow Head. RSVP and additional information regarding that free event can be found here. Tour dates are also listed below.

Human Condition, now out for purchase, can be bought or streamed here.
